Education. Design. Sustainability. Textiles. Costume. Sculpture.
As an experienced educator, specialising in textiles, ceramics, fashion, and costume, I place a strong focus on sustainable practices. My teaching combines contemporary approaches with complex, heritage craft techniques such as advanced embroidery methods, hand-building in ceramics, batik, and other traditional textile processes. Requiring a high level of skill, precision, and creative problem-solving, these are qualities I aim to develop in all my students. With extensive experience in further education, I work predominantly with adults and occasionally children, supporting their technical development and artistic exploration. My practice is rooted in the belief that traditional crafts, when taught with depth and rigour, can inform innovative, sustainable design. I foster a learning environment that values craftsmanship, critical thinking, and creativity, encouraging students to push the boundaries of their practice with integrity and purpose.
